NWC Newsletter
Hello All!
I hope this finds everyone well. It has been a hot one here in the Sooner state. Please remember to take the necessary precautions to avoid heat related problems. And thank God for air conditioning :>)
It hardly seems possible, but on Friday, Sept. 23rd, & Saturday, Sept. 24th, Northwest Classen High School will be celebrating her 50th Anniversary! The NWC Alumni Association will be hosting a celebration on these two dates. Here is what is scheduled:
  • Friday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., come by the school and take a stroll through the Alumni Museum: located in the library. Have some cake and soda, and meet up with other alums. Watch videos of past football teams (weren't you a halfback?), and take a tour through the old alma mater.
  • That evening, Northwest is having Homecoming at Taft Stadium, so why not hang around and watch the game. "We are the Knights, mighty, mighty ..."
  • Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a Car Show in the parking lot. The school will again be open for touring, as will the Museum.
  • NWC Alums - and former Mayors of OKC - Kirk Humphreys and Ron Norick are the Honorary Chairmen of this event, along with Bill Whetstone (married to our own Judy Croom) as President of the Alumni Association.
Hope to see you all there! (By the way, both OU & OSU have byes that weekend!)

Also worth noting: Toby has always gone the extra mile for his home state of Oklahoma and now the Sooner State is giving back to one of its favorite native sons. Toby will be inducted in the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame at the annual concert and induction ceremony in Muskogee, scheduled for October 27th.
