"PSYCHOLOGICAL COMMENTARIES"
Notes on the Fourth way

There are 3 different "Centers" in Man that control his actions. These are:
    I. INSTINCTIVE-MOVING CENTER
    II. EMOTIONAL CENTER
    III. INTELLECTUAL CENTER

Further, each Center has 3 subdivisions:
Ia. MOVING CENTER - BODY CELLS
        1. Moving
            A. Moving Part: Automatic reflexes and movements
            B. Emotional Part: Imitation on a small scale
            3. Intellectual Part
    Ib. INSTINCTIVE CENTER
        1. Moving Part
            A. Positive Reaction: Instinctive moving and Pleasant Sensations
        2. Emotional Part
            A. Animal Rage: i.e. to kill
        3. Intellectual Part
            A. So Called intuitions

II. EMOTIONAL CENTER - SEX CELLS
      Positive:
        1. Moving
            A. Moving Part: Mechanical Expressions
            B. Emotional Part: Likes and Dislikes, personal emotions
            C. Intellectual Part: Small Desires, daily "Wills"
        2. Emotional
            A. Religious and aesthetic emotions, Morals
        3. Intellectual
            A. Positive: Artistic Creation, Chief Seat of "Magnetic Center"
      Negative:
Hate, Jealousy, etc. ( More on Negative Emotions later!)

III. INTELLECTUAL CENTER - BRAIN CELLS
        1. Moving
            A. Moving: Mechanical Talking
            B. Emotional: Curiosity, Imagination of others
            C. Intellectual: Shrewdness, Caution, Small Plans
        2. Emotional
            Desire to know; Understand
        3. Intellectual
            Creative Thought, Discovery

The Intellectual Center is a twin power : A thing is either Affirmed or Negated. Thinking therefore is a matter of COMPARING. Questions of why involve seeking a reason. All reasoning involves Comparison and Choice, or selecting and rejecting.

Negative thinking occurs when one thinks only or mainly from the Negative side of the Intellectual Center. Since our Intellectual apparatus is divided into positive and negative, it can give any result according to which side is set into action. If one has a "mind set" that food will make you fat, the intellect will act on this idea, and will instruct the body to produce fat cells. The intellect can make anything so, prove or disprove anything!

Therefore it is Valuation, an aspect of the Emotional Center that is decisive. Without proper understanding and work, it is impossible to sort through the myriad of suggestions presented in daily life. The most dramatic and powerful state that occurs in Man is that of his Negative Emotions. These are Acquired, not natural! Children, by imitation, etc. begin to feel what these things represent as they develop.

Unless we have some sort of consciousness somewhere within ourselves; Negative Emotions are unconquerable. Real work starts with the realization of the uselessness of Negative Emotions. They are the intermediate stage between sanity and insanity. A Man whose center of gravity lies in negative emotions cannot be sane and cannot develop. He must become normal first.
The first type of negative emotions are the more usual, ordinary, everyday irritations. The second type do not occur everyday. They may be hurt feelings, suspicion, etc. The third type occur rarely and are the hardest to pinpoint and control.
It is helpful to notice negative emotions when they appear and work first on the impression or manifestations they create externally. Once these are observed, it is possible to work on the emotion itself.

OBSERVATION of negative emotions is absolutely necessary in order to Transform life into meaning for oneself. Reality is ones' Impressions! At this point we cannot transform external life, only our impressions of it. Self-remembering or Self-Observation leads to the transformation of impressions; ultimately, Transformation of BEING.

Man, as a Self Developing Being, can be further divided into Seven Categories:
No. 1 Man: Center of Gravity in INSTINCTS AND MOVEMENTS
No. 2 Man: Center of Gravity in EMOTIONAL LIFE
No. 3 Man: Center of Gravity in INTELLECTUAL LIFE
These three above categories comprise "MECHANICAL" Humanity
   -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No. 4 Man: Center of Gravity Not in first three but distributed among them.
This is the Awakening Process or "Balanced (Born Again) Man".
No's. 5,6,7 The Kingdom of GOD forms the "Circle of Conscious Humanity":
These have undergone various Degrees of Transformation, ReBirth, or
development. In short, those whom have had a new Conception.
          Jesus Christ, Buddha, Moses, etc.
