The Great Adventure
at Fruita

Journal: Day 2
April 20th, 1998
Today we drove 460 miles! We left Glenwood very early this morning. I wanted to get a picture of a truck carrying about 8 of the new Volkswagen Beetles. It was gone by the time we got there. We drove to some little town and we ate breakfast at a McDonalds. We headed on to Grand Junction and we tried to get into the museum there but it was closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Umm..Tasty!
We left Grand Junction and headed to Fruita and went to the museum there. It had an earthquake simulator and a lot of hands on stuff. I bought a T-Shirt there and some little capsules that turn into dinosaurs when you put them in water. They had all of these animatronics dinosaurs and there was one that had a dinosaur ripping the head off of another dinosaur and it was really sickening.

We left Fruita and headed to Dinosaur, Colorado. We stopped at a fossil and rock shop and I bought five little pebbles that were really neat and shiny.
We left that place and got to Vernal and took a road out of there to Dinosaur National Monument. It was this big museum that was built on a big wall that had hundreds of dinosaur fossils sticking out of it and it was about 50 feet tall and 200 feet wide.

After we left there we bought a 50 cent auto tour book. We went to this place that had a lot of petroglyphs that were made by Indians 1000 years ago. We saw these cool carvings of people and designs, but a bunch of idiots had shot at the walls and there were bullet holes in the rocks. I found a cool lighter there and it is made of copper and has a cool design on it. We got some pictures there and I gathered up some Utah sand.

We headed back into Vernal and we went to another dinosaur museum that had a garden with a bunch of models in it of dinosaurs and we took a lot of pictures. We got back into the museum and I got a souvenir coin made for 1 dollar. We got out of Vernal and headed on to Price. On the way to Price we saw some elk in the road and we got some pictures of them.
We got to Price and we headed onto Green River which was about 70 miles away and I had to go to the bathroom the whole time. We checked into a Best Western and we went to a restaurant and I got some spaghetti. We came back to the hotel and we are very far ahead of schedule.
I am now sitting in front of the computer typing up this journal and listening to Pee-wee Herman on the television. I still haven't got to see South Park, but I know I will soon enough.
See ya later!
