The Great Adventure
T-Rex on my Butt

Journal: Day 3
April 21st, 1998
Today I woke up in a Best Western in Green River. The night before that we ate a restaurant next door. This motel was great! It had outdoor hotubs and a great view overlooking the river. We left the hotel and we drove to Moab, but on the way we went to the Canyonlands-National Park and we took a whole bunch of pictures there of these gigantic gorges and rock formations.

Canyonlands!
Arches Nat'l Park
We left there and headed into Moab and went to a diner that Gene & Gale recommended to us. While we were in the restaurant the waitress told us that it was all vegetarian so we left. I wasn't surprised because Gene & Gale are health nuts. We were leaving that town so we ate and went to a leather shop to see if anyone could fix dad's belt. They couldn't so she recommended to take it to a gift shop with a guy who worked there who could probably fix it. He did and I bought a little magnet that was carved with Indian petroglyphs. We left Moab and took the road that we came in on and we went to Arches-National Park. We drove there and saw some really cool rock formations and we wasted about 5 rolls of film there. We also had to do a bit of hiking but we turned back on one of the trails because it was long and we were tired. We left and I stamped my passport and we got a couple more pictures.
We drove for a long time across deserts and we got to Blanding Utah and checked into our room. We ate at a drive in and we toured to the town and I simply hate it. It is very small and the hotel is bad the pool is drained and the town is full of red necks. We stopped at a grocery store and dad bought a six pack of Slickrock Lager and he and Joel had some. :>)
I'm still waiting to go to South Park but I just have to be patient. Today was a good (and tiring) day.

 Good Brew
